I am fluent in English, German, and Chinese and wanted to know what jobs I could get using my languages in England.
I originally wanted to be a teacher but its not exactly the highest paying jobs and as much as I love kids I am sort of unwilling to let go of the live style i grew up in forever. I know I will likely have a low pay to start of with but I do want to know I can work my way up to something higher.
What jobs can I get in England as a translator or interpreter?
There are two companies that hold a contract with the Home Office - one of them is The Big Word - I can't remember the name of the other one.
The Home Office contract is used by the Home Office, but also, because it is open to all public sector organisations, is used by many in the public sector.
I would suggest contacting the Home Office to see who their suppliers are - and then ring those suppliers offering your services. You'll have instant accesss (if you get in, of course) to work for much of the public sector.
