What jobs (in a hospital) are avaliable for the 1st year RN student?

I am working on my prerequesite classes and hope to start my nursing classes shortly. Nursing program takes 2.5 years at the community college I attend. Where to start? What jobs will be avaliable for a student without degree in a hospital? Thank you.

I worked in admitting which was great. I made $12/hour and the job worked around my school schedule. I got to work in the ER registration and got to know the ER staff very well. Also, there were students working as CNA's, EKG techs, housekeeping and ER tech. I would say CNA or ER tech is the most hands on where you'll get the most toward your goal of being an RN. Personally I'd choose ER tech because a CNA's job is dirty work - but a part of all nurses lives.
Reply:Besides nursing assistants, the hospital I work for uses sitters for confused patients and ward clerks. Go to your local hospitals and see what they have to offer.
Reply:There are many jobs that you can do. Work as a nurse's aide would be good experience. I work in the central sterile department sterilizing and processing surgical instruments, and the pay is pretty good. Also, there are students that work 12 hr weekend shifts and go to school during the week.
