What kind of job should I get over the summer? Do colleges care about jobs?

I really have nothing big to do this summer so I think getting a job would be a good experience. What kind of job should I get? I'm a sophmore in highschool. And do colleges look at people with a certain job any better than other jobs?

Colleges don't really look at work experiences. However, the skills you can develop can be invaluable. In your situation where you say you aren't doing anything else I'd say you should get a job. Also, it will help you build skills to get better jobs during college and after. Employers look at college degrees, but they also look at past work experience.

I'd say at this point what kind of job you get isn't important. If you are interested in something as a career you could try to find something in that field to get an idea. Really anything at this point would be a good starting point. Retail store, data entry, landscaping, cleaning (homes or office buildings), secretary...
Reply:Some of the people who answered you are spammers! I posted a question about a job and I got some of the same spammers.

I noticed that most of these people have not had an account for very long and only answer job related questions, giving the same answers to everyone.

Be careful. I am trying to report as many as possible. It would help a lot if you would report them as well.

Sorry I can't answer your question. Good luck

P.S. Geena Davis, Lindsey Rice and Narren are totally spammers!
Reply:Unless you somehow scored an internship in the field you intend to major in colleges generally do not care that you worked anywhere. They look more at grades, extracurriculars, and community involvement.
