I currently live in New York, NY and I'm applying for jobs in Boston. When sending my resume to perspective employers in Boston, will a local address look better?
One of my close friends from college lives in Boston, so I could use his address if needbe. What do you think?

Use your address at which you can be reliably reached. Explain in your cover letter that you will be relocating soon.
Reply:If they require local candidates, use the local UPS store.
Also for contact phone number use a service like GrandCentral where you can have a local phone number area code but rings to your phone, this would work in many cities
