Where can I find detailed information about social service jobs and education requirements needed for them?

I am getting ready to go back to school but I need to know what kind of degree I need to work towards and the different classes I need to sign up for. I would like to work in the social service field but I need more information on the types of jobs, their descriptions, how much they pay, etc. Any information you may have or websites I can go to will help. Thanks.

Reply:Most states' unemployment agencies offer job counseling and career guidance to people who are seeking work. There may even be some state or federally funded education programs where they will help you pay for college classes or special skills training. I would strongly recommend you check out what is available at your local state run unemployment office.
Reply:every city has a social worker /connections tyr your city for youth and family home websites, try united family , your Department of Social Services ,They are in need of some serious help they can tell you your requirements for each job.
Reply:Just type in the job in your search engine as well as pay scale info and you will get your answer. I would suggest University of Phoenix they give detailed info on degrees in the social services or medical field, its a science degree so good luck.
Reply:I've been in social services for 15 years and have changed careers recently. But I enjoyed the sector and still volunteer. Jobs in the field range from: case manager; agency coordinator; social worker; vocational counselor;

It depends on where you see yourself. Make sure you focus on a masters degree because lots of social service work is going that route.
