What kind of jobs can you do where you work freelance or work for yourself?

Like some people become aromatherapists or speech therapists - skills you can teach on your own or when you want. meaning, you don't have to go to an office to work! any ideas? and not necessarily health-related jobs like the ones I mentioned.

Reply:Freelancing can be very relaxing and beneficial since you can plan your own schedules(i.e., what days to work, how many hours, as well as the most important your own fees!) Some of these careers are:


Real Estate Closer (which pays actually pretty good, minimum $350 per hour), Decorator, Plumbing, Carpentry, Landscaping, Painter, Plumber, Private Investigator, Housekeeping, Tutor, Accountant, Translator/Interpreter, and many more...
Reply:designers often work freelance...interior designers, graphic designers, web designers...etc. then there's skilled trades like painting and decorating, plumbing...etc.





also, accountants? but u need formal qualifications to do this.

Reply:I know writers often do freelance work, also substitute teachers. You can also work for a temporary agency who hire you and they send you on different job sites, depending on your qualifications and the assignments they send you to can last days or weeks. This keeps the job interesting and you can gain a lot of experience this way.

Reply:Any job that offers a service like window cleaning, shopping, gardening, ironing, Child-minders, Pet sitters, Dog Walkers or door-door trading like Avon or Kleeneze Reps! are all done by self-employed people.


If you have writing skills you could work freelance for magazines, newspapers etc.


Book-keeping, typing or accountancy work can be done freelance as well.


I can think of lots more and I'm sure there must be plenty of web-sites that will give you plenty of ideas too! Try good old google!

Reply:I just came across this website called guru.com which matches freelancers to employers looking for freelancers and it's got tons of catetgories, many of which I've never even thought about, so I thought that's pretty cool. I think if you check it out, you'll get lots of ideas about what you might be able to do.

Dance, Karate, Music, etc..

Lawyer, Private Nursing, Translator, Web Master, etc..





If you put your own money to work for yourself - that's 1.


Trump, Buffett, Koch, and many smaller, etc..
