How do I find jobs with my local parole department, as I am majoring in criminal justice to be a parole agent?

And I want to apply for jobs that will appreciate my current status as a student in the major. I have been told that majoring in a career outside of the jobs you apply for is a negative. A business wont let me be a manager if they know my career goals arent with intentions of that particular career. I live in the Orange County, CA and Los Angeles County Areas! PLEASE HELP!

How do I find jobs with my local parole department, as I am majoring in criminal justice to be a parole agent?
Call your local parole office and find out...

Or take a look at these links:

Reply:well best to call your parole office and ask about jobs. they probably list them on their website.

i seriously doubt most people that work there have a degree in that field, i bet most dont even have degrees. best not to mention it, and to be prepared with a good answer if asked.
Reply:Parole officers are State employees, check you state website, they will be glad to have you! Do not forget about probation officer, they handle juveniles also. Parole or probation require a 4 yr. degree, they will not let you work as one until you have finished school, you maybe able to work as some sort of detention person until you complete your degree, doing this will give you the inside track on a job in parole or probation.
