How many jobs should you list on a resume?

I've had two jobs in my young life. The first, I was at for 3 years and the people loved me. The second, I was at for less than 100 days, and I left because of a conflict in personalities. I am now back again at my first job (temporarily) while I look for another job.

I don't want to list the job I was only at for 3 months, but I'm afraid any future employer that I interview with will wonder about the gap in my resume, and will they think I'm lying by not listing it?

How many jobs should you list on a resume?
It really depends on what the next job is you're looking for. If the 3 month job isn't even relevant to the new job you're trying to get, there's no reason to point it out.

I don't list that I once worked for Taco Bell while trying to obtain a job in Graphic Design.

And to be honest, very, very rarely to employers actually contact previous employers, especially for young employees. Now if you listed you were a chief executive at Boeing until the cutbacks, they'd probably check up on that one.

If you were mid-late career they may check too, but even in my 10+ years in my career field, I've never had a employer check with previous employers or even my references.

You can either add the 3 month one and list "conflict of interest" as a reason for leaving or just leave the reason out. If you want to skip it entirely you can do that too, if by some stroke of luck a new employer finds it and asks about it, just tell them you didn't feel it was relevant experience.
Reply:you could always make something up (fudge a bit), say you were self employed during that 100 days.. like you babysat, or tutored for other students, or did school typing, something that doesnt have a reference attached..
Reply:your most recent job or current job and not alot of them jobs that have the most time in.
Reply:I would list it because that way you are being honest. The thing is to highlight the reason you left in a manner that makes you look good. Which you won't really look bad since you did hold down the one job for 3 years which is a lengthy time plus you have a good reference from them. Since you have so few jobs may I suggest listing any type of volunteer work or any other type of skills you may have from activities at school. Market yourself, good luck!
Reply:You REALLY don't want to look dishonest. We've all be there, and people are understanding about bad jobs. But looking dishonest will definitely cost you the job.
Reply:Don't list it if you don't want to.

The whole job world stinks, because of these difficulties, when nothing really matters but your current attitude. Resumes are like papers about you, the slave, being transferred from one slave owner to another.

Try to get into your own small business of some sort, as soon as humanly possible.
Reply:as many as possible that were left in fairly good standing.
