How can I tell the difference between online/work from jobs that are actual jobs that are real?

I would like to work from my home, but I always see a price to join these websites that provide information to these jobs.Is this something I should do and how can I tell if there legit?

How can I tell the difference between online/work from jobs that are actual jobs that are real?
Any site that asks for money, OR you don't understand how the money is made, OR its too good to be true (get rich fast scheme) run! Surveys are hard, not a lot of them out there that you can qualify for, plus they take time. Usually like 30 minutes for $3. Did it, doesn't pay. What I do now and its totally free. Forever. I'm off with a broken hand, so it HAS to be free. Its registered with the Better Business Bureau too. If you want contact me and I will send you the website. The video explains it all. You will be able to tell if its for you or not. Good luck.
Reply:The only scam free site to find this information charges a fee. It is sohojobs.org. There are different membership levels available (based on the term of the membership) but they verify the job to ensure it is not a scam before posting and they post new jobs at least once a week.

I am a member an I love it! If you decide that this is a site that you want to join, please help me out and use my code se8pdsm as it helps to extend my membership.
Reply:There are many jobs out there that are not scams. First, there are a few cardinal rules for looking for legitimate online jobs:

1) If they ask for any type of fees, RUN FAR AWAY!

2) You will most likely not find a plain ol' data entry job.

3) Work at home jobs are not any easier than regular jobs you do outside the home, anything promising lots of money for doing nothing is a scam or a bad business opportunity.

4) Do not "process payments" for anyone, you could end up in the big house.

5) Is the job they are offering going to "change your life", I doubt it.

6) Legitimate companies will not advertise their jobs on banners or spam mail.

To start getting educated about work at home jobs you need to visit http://www.wahm.com message boards and read, read, read. There is tons of information there that will help you avoid scams. Next, go to http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that has a directory of legitimate companies that hire home workers. Depending on your skills and experience, you should find some good leads there.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
